How the World-Wide Automobile Production Internationalized from 2000 to 2011 – New Quest Research

ID: 154827

The new Quest Research reveals the dramatic shifts in the market shares of the automobile countries and manufacturers since the year 2000.

(firmenpresse) - 76% of the world-wide automobile production rolls from the assembly belts that are located in the 10 strongest automobile countries. The share of each country at this world production was dramatically changed from 2000 to 2011. These shifts during the last 10 years are made visible by two recently published articles in the Quest Trend Magazine.

The internationalization of production by the large automakers worked as the driving force of this development.

The Quest Trend Magazine is focused on the 10 automobile countries with the largest shares at the world-wide automobile production. All production numbers of the Quest research come from the „Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d`Automobiles“, Paris.

Still in 2000 59.7% of the world-wide automobile production came from the USA, Japan, Germany, France and Spain. Just 11 years later this world market share was dropped to 35%.

Brazil, India and China, however, could more than quadruple their world market shares during this time being almost up with 32.1% with the formerly leading automobile countries.

The Quest Trend Magazine publishes the ranking of the 10 largest automobile countries and their shares at the world automobile production in the comparison of the years 2000 and 2011.

China could more than sextuple its world market share within 11 years catapulting itself from rank 7 on rank 1. In China more automobiles are now produced than in the USA and Japan. More than each fifth (22.9%) world-wide produced automobile is already manufactured in China; of it each second rolls from the assembly belt of the 10 largest automobile manufacturers.

The Quest Trend Magazine states that this change of the production shares was not caused by cyclical market conditions; in fact, it was the result of a structural change, i.e. the internationalization of production.

In a second article the Quest Trend Magazine publishes the ranking of the 10 largest automobile manufacturers and their shares at the world automobile production in the comparison of the years 2000 and 2010.

For each of the five largest manufacturers the production shares in the 10 largest automobile countries are made visible in five diagrams in comparison of the years 2000 and 2010. So some characteristics of the internationalization strategies of the largest automakers are indicated. Renault on rank 10 is likewise analyzed.

With these articles the Quest Trend Magazine continues its contributions to the economic conditions of the automation technology. For this purpose articles were already published about the technological main trends of the automation technology since 1980 and about the present and future market structure of the suppliers of automation technology.
