Orange County's Public Relations Professionals Honored at 37th Annual OC/PRSA PROTOS Awards Ceremony at OC Fair & Event Center
Orange County Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America Recognizes Top PR Campaigns and Industry Leaders
(firmenpresse) - COSTA MESA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/13/12 -- The 37th Annual PROTOS Awards, themed "A Fair to Remember" and hosted by the Orange County Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (OC/PRSA), honored top Orange County public relations professionals and organizations for the best public relations campaigns and noteworthy achievements.
On June 1, more than 200 public relations professionals from around Orange County gathered for the annual awards event held inside The Hangar at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif.
"The Orange County professionals receiving top honors are the most creative and effective in the field of public relations. This year's winners represent a diverse range of industries, including consumer, business-to-business, technology and nonprofit work," said Cynthia Ragland, APR, OC/PRSA Board President for 2012.
Orange County's public relations professionals submitted 80 entries in categories ranging from community outreach and media relations to collateral development, multicultural programs and social media.
More than 60 companies and individuals walked away with an Award of Excellence or PROTOS statuette.
Accepting the highest honor of the year, Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA) earned the "Best in Show" total PR Program award for its entry titled, "Public Communications, OCTA for Public Affairs Total Program, OC Jobs Now Initiative by Breaking Down Barriers."
Taking home multiple awards were OCTA, Porter Novelli, Ketchum and Toshiba America Medical Systems, and Westbound Communications. A complete list of PROTOS winners and projects can be found .
OC/PRSA also presented two Distinguished Service Awards, the Chapter's highest honor for both an individual and organization.
This year's Distinguished Service Award - Individual was presented to Ted Nguyen, department manager, public communications and media relations, OCTA, for contributing many hours of his professional expertise to the chapter's professional development events and activities.
The Distinguished Service Award - Organization was presented to Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division for its corporate support of local charities and professional associations.
