Public Voting Opens for 2012 Canadian Comedy Awards
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 06/14/12 -- The Canadian Comedy Awards Foundation in association with The Comedy Network are pleased to announce that public voting for the 13th Annual Canadian Comedy Awards (CCAs) is now open.
Comedy fans who register at can vote for their favorites in seven categories: Best TV Show, Best Film, Best Web Clip, Best Web Series, Best Podcast, Best Radio Program or Clip, and Comedy Person of the Year.
Winners will be announced at a live awards ceremony Aug. 26 in Toronto.
Full listing of nominees in all 29 categories (announced June 7) is available at . Winners in the remaining award categories are voted on by industry voters, and members of the CCA Board and Awards Committee.
About the Canadian Comedy Awards
Since 2000, the Canadian Comedy Awards (CCAs) have awarded over 250 "Beaver" statues to projects and artists for their excellence in live performance, film, television, radio, and internet categories. Leading up to the Awards, a multi-day Festival featuring performances by nominated artists brings the very best in Canadian comedy to the CCA's host city. The CCAs are administered by the Canadian Comedy Foundation for Excellence (CCFE), a non-profit organization whose mandate is to "recognize, celebrate and promote Canadian achievements in comedy at home and abroad". The CCAs are one of the CCFE's core activities to accomplish its mission.
