Canadian service provider and long-term customer expands bandwidth and increases
density with reliable and industry proven solution from Zhone
Oakland, CA - June 20, 2012 - Zhone Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZHNE), a global
leader in FTTx network access solutions, today announced the expansion of its
ten-year relationship with Managed Network Solutions, Inc. (MNSi). A service
provider headquartered in Windsor, Ontario, MNSi has been a competitive local
exchange carrier (CLEC) provider since 1995. The company offers telephone,
digital subscriber lines (DSL) and internet service to more than 20,000 access
line customers in southwestern Ontario. The expanded relationship between MNSi
and Zhone ensured local consumers receive competitive triple-play services in an
efficient manner.
MNSi deployed Zhone's industry leading MXK(TM) in March 2012 as its multi-
service access solution for business VoIP and HSIA for area businesses. MNSi
chose the MXK to provide competitive voice and data services on a single
platform based on their rewarding experience with Zhone's DSL modem deployments.

effectively deliver both VoIP and HSIA with the most density of ports in the

signaling an FTTx customer growth rate of more than 450 percent in the three-
year period from January 2009 to January 2012. Total subscriber capacity
supported by these deployments now exceeds 20 million. Featuring industry-
leading density, scalability and switching capacity, the MXK is the industry's
first terabit access concentrator and provides non-blocking capacity of up to
3,600 100 Mbps GPON subscribers or 360 1G Active Ethernet subscribers. Zhone has
also driven more than 8,500 percent ONT growth and more than 9,800 percent OLT
growth since solution inception.
