AIM Autosport Team FXDD RACING WITH FERRARI Takes Third Place Podium at the Glen

At the world famous circuit, Watkins Glen International, AIM Autosport Team FXDD RACING WITH FERRARI enjoyed a flawless Friday and Saturday running and an even more successful qualifying session with Emil Assentato behind the wheel of the Ferrari 458 Italia. With a long and successful history of racing dating back to 1970, Emil's racing experience secured third spot on the starting grid for the greatly anticipated endurance race; the Sahlen's Six Hours of Watkins Glen.
Taking the green flag at 11:00am, Emil Assentato and AIM Autosport strategically mastered a first stint keeping a solid position while aiming to preserve the car in top form for two additional stints followed by Jeffrey Segal and Anthony Lazzaro consecutively. After Segal took over the wheel, the race became eventful throughout traffic and some damage occurred due to a racing incident. Segal drove a strong scrappy stint keeping the 458 Italia in a manageable state of health and improving the team's position from eighth to fifth prior to Lazzaro taking over in the third stint. Anthony Lazzaro then took on The Glen and the rest of the field only to improve position. After gruelling heat and adverse track surface conditions, the 458 Italia handled very well.
Jeff Segal then hopped into the Ferrari, entering the final stint. Fuel strategy and optimization was key and all drivers of the AIM Autosport Team FXDD RACING WITH FERRARI kept to the strategy developed by the Team's engineers. In addition, pitstop strategies proved to be successful as the team reached third position from an earlier tenth spot in the field with only seventeen minutes remaining in the six hour race.
After a well fought race, the Ferrari 458 Italia yet again proved to be powerful, reliable, and efficient throughout all team strategies. The Assentato, Segal and Lazzaro trio secured a well deserved third place podium at the event.
The next race is scheduled for Indianapolis, The Super Weekend At The Brickyard, on the July 27 - 29, 2012 weekend.
