ServerPronto Partners With the CentOS Project
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 07/02/12 -- In a move to support the continued development of CentOS's community-based enterprise operating system, ServerPronto is providing CentoOS free services. By donating free resources to the open source project, ServerPronto is helping CentOS drive improvements to the popular OS.

CentOS is a free enterprise-class Linux distribution derived from sources provided to the public by a prominent North American enterprise Linux vendor. CentOS is developed by a small but growing team of core developers. In turn, those core developers are supported by an active user community around the world. The entire CentOS infrastructure is made up of donated hardware, either hosted at the donor's own facility or hosted with a further colocation donor. CentOS calls these donors "a critical part" of its efforts.
With its roots in , ServerPronto is providing CentOS not only with high-security facility resources, redundant network infrastructure and dedicated technical support, but in particular with unlimited bandwidth each month via a 1Gbps uplink or better. CentOS will now use ServerPronto servers for its own infrastructure, running tests, developing code, website hosting, data backup, download mirror and other tasks.
