ClimbTechGear Meets the Needs of Rope Access Professionals, Climbing Enthusiasts
(firmenpresse) - AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 07/02/12 -- ClimbTech announced today the launch of ClimbTechGear (), an online store that provides rope access professionals and rock climbing enthusiasts with direct access to a line of products that have become the de facto standard in the fall protection and industrial safety industry.

Karl Guthrie, a co-founder, elaborated on that point. "The bottom line is that we're a bunch of great gear guys, who want nothing more than to meet the needs of indoor and outdoor climbers," he said. "A decade ago, we developed products for this market. The commercial market learned of us and how dependable the products were. So our business model changed. We'll continue to meet their needs. But with ClimbTechGear, we're coming back home."
Fiebig added that the decision makes business sense, too, given the opportunity to effectively eliminate the middle man and meet the demand of a burgeoning new category in the height access industry -- rope access professionals.
"More and more businesses, municipalities and other entities own structures that are otherwise inaccessible without a rope access professional," said Fiebig. "Such structures might be a bridge, a cell tower, a dam or the steeple on a church. Ironically, many of these rope access professionals are climbing enthusiasts, who are using their passion to make a living.

Twenty-five years ago, two avid rock climbers with engineering minds and visionary dreams saw the need for advancement in climbing equipment technology. They imagined, researched, and tested and soon came up with product after product, all taking mountaineering to a new level of sophistication, safety, and ease.
In 1998, these climbers realized that their spring-loaded camming devices had a reach well beyond the mountains. Much larger fields with extensive safety concerns, such as the construction, industrial, military and mining industries, were plagued by outdated, heavy and cumbersome equipment.
