The restored film may be the only remaining copy in existence, or be a different edit to the version ultimately released. With highlights including the Martin Luther King documentary Free at Last, shot during the fated 1967 march where King was assassinated, and the 1936 Soviet film, Poslednjaja noc, there is sure to be something to fascinate anyone with an interest in film history.
However, not to be forgotten are the wealth of pleasures Venice has to offer those who wish to step out of the screening room. Avid people-watchers can witness the world go by in St Mark's Square, termed the 'drawing room of Europe' by Napoleon, whilst the more intrepid might prefer to explore the city's iconic waterways in a private gondola. Culture vultures can tour the magnificence of the Doge's Palace, or foodies can simply take time out to revel in aperitivo with the locals at the foot of the Rialto.
