Corrected press release - Deficit for Swedish central government in June

Corrected press release - Deficit for Swedish central government in June

ID: 162824

(Thomson Reuters ONE) -

Swedish central government payments resulted in a deficit of SEK 28.1 billion.
The fact that the central government budget shows deficits in June each year is
due to large tax refunds. The number of persons who get their refunds before
midsummer increases each year.

The deficit was SEK 2 billion lower than the Debt Office's latest forecast. This
is mainly due to tax income being slightly higher than expected

For the twelve-month period up to the end of June 2012, central government
payments resulted in a deficit of SEK 26.8 billion.

Central government debt amounted to SEK 1,089 billion at the end of June.

The outcome for July will be published on 7 August, at 9:30 am.

Disregard our previous press release " Surplus for Swedish central government in
May" which refers to government payments for the month of May and not June. We
apologize for the incident.
