How to Take Care of Your Jewellery Whilst on Holiday

After packing up your beach wear, toiletries and clothing for your trip away, it's easy to forget where you are going to put your jewellery when you are visiting the beach or going out for a day trip.
Along with your passport and travel documents, jewellery is one of the other precious items that you may choose to wear and take away with you. The survey was conducted by Perfect Circle™ Jewellery Insurance, a product of Jewellers Mutual Insurance Company and suggested that almost two-thirds of people bring or wear valuable jewellery whilst on holiday.
Here's a guide to ensuring that your jewellery doesn't get damaged, lost or stolen when you are away on holiday.
Although you may think leaving your jewellery in a room safe is your best bet, it is often the most common place to leave any valuables. It is advised to keep your jewellery with you at all times, so that you are either wearing it or have it safely stored on your person. If you are looking to go swimming and don't want your jewellery to turn discoloured, leave your valuables in the safe for short periods of time but remember to remove them for the rest of your trip. Leaving your jewellery in your luggage is also not a good option as bags and suitcases can easily get lost when travelling and may easily be accessed if left in your hotel room.
As jewellery is a personal possession, it's understandable that people want to wear it on holiday. Such items are probably more at risk at home unattended so it's best to keep your most favoured items of jewellery with you. However, taking too much jewellery runs the risk that if one piece is found and stolen, the rest will be too.
