Minister Paradis to Promote World-Class Canadian Aerospace Sector at Farnborough International Airshow 2012

(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 07/06/12 -- The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of Industry, will be in Farnborough, England, from July 8 to 10, heading the Canadian delegation at Farnborough International Airshow 2012. Attended by companies from around the world, this biennial airshow is the global aerospace and aviation industry's flagship event.

"The Canadian aerospace industry is a cornerstone of our economy, driving economic growth and creating jobs and long-term prosperity across the country" said Minister Paradis. "That's why we are continuously working to set the right conditions for Canadian companies to thrive in the fiercely competitive global market."

The Minister will kick off his visit to the airshow by officially opening the Canadian Pavilion on Monday, July 9, welcoming domestic industry leaders and highlighting federal support for aerospace. He will also take the opportunity to meet with key aerospace stakeholders and promote the strength and innovative capabilities of the Canadian aerospace sector.

"This trade show brings together the best and brightest in the global aerospace industry," added the Minister. "Thanks to the innovation and talent of our companies, Canada has earned its place in that exclusive group."

Farnborough International Airshow 2012 will take place from July 9 to 15, 2012.
