Kahl am Main, July 12, 2012 - SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES (SINGULUS) reports an
additional order for a TIMARIS vacuum coating machine for the development
and pilot production of MRAM wafers. At the beginning of 2012 several
TIMARIS coating systems with different configurations and with an overall
volume exceeding EUR 13 million were already booked as orders. Together
with the new order, five machines in total comprise the order backlog and
thus undoubtedly confirm the favorable business trend in the Semiconductor
segment.
SINGULUS further develops the plant and process technology for the
nano-coating of MRAM wafers and thin-film read/write heads as well as for
semiconductor applications in order to expand the market and technologic
advantage and to maintain the leading position in the soon expected
industrial production of MRAM memory. Besides one other manufacturer
SINGULUS is currently the only provider of vacuum coating machines for the
production of MRAM wafers.
Profile SINGULUS:
SINGULUS continues to expand its activities in the business segments Solar
and Optical Disc. The goal is to attain a leading position in the silicon
and thin-film solar technology as a machine supplier as well as a
development partner for new cell concepts and to maintain the market
leadership in the Optical Disc segment for production equipment for the
manufacturing of dual-layer Blu-ray Discs. The business activities in the
division Semiconductor are extensively strengthened in the course of the
apparent growing market for MRAM semiconductor technology. In addition, the
company reviews other sectors and work areas, where new market segments can
be developed on the basis of the present know-how in the area of vacuum
coating.
