DRI CANADA Announces National Award of Excellence Winners
(firmenpresse) - KEMPTVILLE, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 07/12/12 -- Several Canadian organizations - ATCO Electric, NAV Canada, and Health Canada - were recognized recently for their excellence in business continuity management (BCM). The awards were announced June 26, 2012 by the Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI) CANADA at a Gala Awards Evening at the World Conference on Disaster Management in Toronto. DRI CANADA is Canada's Leader in BCM Education and Certification.
"Congratulations to these new award winners,' said Mary Genyk, DRI CANADA's 6th Annual Award of Excellence Program Chair. "And we'd like to recognize the finalists in each of the three award categories, as well. The award evaluation process is very rigorous to ensure that the integrity and value of the award is maintained."
DRI CANADA's Award of Excellence recognizes organizations that achieve a high level of excellence in the field of BCM To qualify for the award, each organization had to demonstrate significant accomplishment in three professional areas - continuity management, technology recovery and crisis management.
"The self-audit checklist required NAV CANADA to review each DRI practice in great detail," said Steven McDonald, Security Advisor, Corporate Security & Emergency Planning for NAV CANADA. "By doing this, our team learned each practice more in depth. This is a very rewarding and helpful process for any business establishing or improving Business Continuity Management principles."

The award entries were assessed by an Evaluation Team made up of experienced and recognized BCM professionals from various industries and governments across the country.
