Ahold's Giant-Carlisle division completes acquisition of Genuardi's stores

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, July 13, 2012 - Ahold announced that Giant-Carlisle,
a division of Ahold USA, has successfully completed its acquisition of stores in
the Greater Philadelphia area of the United States from Genuardi's Family
Markets, a subsidiary of Safeway.
This follows the agreement announced by Giant-Carlisle on January 5, 2012, and
its subsequent announcement on June 15, 2012.
