1855 has announced today that it has completed a capital increase of ?4,500k in
order to accelerate its development.
This capital increase was subscribed by Aphrodite (the holding entity of the
founders of 1855), the main shareholders of the company, and by Midi Capital (a
fund associated with the Caisse d'Epargne Group), thereby making its first
equity investment in the capital of 1855.
The capital increase was implemented by private placement of 106,111,456 new
shares priced at 0.03 euro per share (including issue premium), and through an
issue of 18,977,000 new shares priced at 0.04 euro per share.
Following the issue of this increase in capital, Aphrodite, the holding entity
of the founding shareholders, still holds 50.2% in the capital of the company.
"This increase in capital will enable us to accelerate the development of the
group" says Emeric Sauty de Chalon, President.
"Firstly, by supporting the organic growth of the wine business, which is
already 20% up on the first quarter of 2012".
"Then, by seizing external growth opportunities, following on from the
operations carried out over the past two years, and whose results are in line
with our expectations".
"The combination of these two development levers should enable 1855 to reinforce
its position as the number one player in the sale of fine wines via the Internet
in France".
