Make-A-Wish(R) Canada Appoints New President and Directors to National Board
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 07/26/12 -- is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Winterford, as President of the national board. Bob, Founder and President, Kids Strong and Free Foundation, succeeds Janis Ostling who will continue to serve one-year as Immediate Past President. Recently appointed directors include: Daniel Bourque, Benjamin Lo, Gerry Savaria and Bill Wignall.
"As President, Bob's strong commitment to our mission, and his experience in the children's charitable sector will provide invaluable insight to Make-A-Wish," said Janis Ostling, Past President, Make-A-Wish Canada. "As well, the newly appointed directors present an impressive range of skill sets that will complement our board and further our national wish granting mission and vision."
Ostling served a three-year term as President for Make-A-Wish.

About Bob Winterford
Bob has over 25 years of sales, marketing and business management experience across a variety of industries. He is the owner and president of two Alberta-based companies - Four Flow Industries and Eye Wonder Studios Inc. Bob is Past President of our Northern Alberta chapter, and previously served as Vice-President on the national board.

Bob has written and published 14 children's books. He and his wife currently reside in Edmonton, Alberta.
About Janis Ostling
Janis served three years as President, and five years as a director on the national board of Make-A-Wish Canada, from 2007 to 2012. She will complete her six year tenure in May 2013.
As President, Janis skillfully initiated and led an 18-month strategic review of the entire organization, positively impacting the national entity and its eight chapters across the country and strengthening the Foundation for the future. Janis is currently CEO of the Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club.

About Ben Lo
Ben is the Director of Income Tax at the where he is responsible for all income tax functions including developing and documenting tax policies and procedures. Ben holds a Charted Accountant designation and a Master of Management and Professional Accounting from Rotman School of Management.
Ben resides in Toronto. He enjoys playing hockey, soccer, reading books and writing stories and screenplays.

Gerry was appointed President and CEO of in 2007, having held a variety of different positions in sales, merchandising, procurement and business development over his 14 years at LS.
Gerry enjoys playing hockey and basketball and traveling with the family. He and his wife, Nancy, live in Toronto with their two children, Sarah-Anne and Liam.

Bill is a proven technology industry CEO, having run several global companies and is an experienced director/chair of multiple public/private/not-for-profit boards. Bill is currently the President and CEO of , a publically traded company headquartered in Toronto, Canada. He is actively involved in the community via hospital research boards, teaching at multiple universities, and leading incubators such as MaRS. Bill is also an ICD certified Director (ICD.D) and a graduate of their Directors Education Program. He enjoys spending time with his family and lives just outside Toronto with his wife and daughter.
