New Guidelines to Be Released in August for Communications Between Coaches and Students by the NIAAA for High School, Middle School and Education Based Athletics

(firmenpresse) - MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- (Marketwire) -- 07/31/12 -- DigitalTown, Inc. (OTCQB: DGTW) and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association ("NIAAA"), headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, jointly announced today that TrustedWebMail email service powered by DigitalTown will be the official recommended email provider of the NIAAA for athletic administrators, coaches, and athletes nationwide.

DigitalTown has been developing technology solutions to address the security needs of various school and community programs since long before the events at Penn State surfaced in the National media.

The NIAAA and select Athletic Directors, working with DigitalTown, will issue new nationwide recommend guidelines for education based athletics, at all levels, to ensure proper communications between Coaches and Student-Athletes. The cornerstone will be that both coaches and students use TrustedWebMail due to the ability of both the School and the Student's Parents to monitor their respective accounts within the system.

Walt L. Sargent, Director of Marketing of the NIAAA, says, "The NIAAA is proud to highly endorse the TrustedWebMail system as its recommended email for communication between coaches and athletes. It provides Athletic Administrators and parents with a tool that eliminates advertising and access to chat rooms while offering protection to athletes and coaches through administrative oversight by parents and athletic administrators."

Richard Pomije, Chairman of DigitalTown, says, "With parent supervised and controlled email for students, and coaches supervised email for athletic administrators, along with no advertising or collection of children's personal information for marketing purposes, safety and security will be the foundation of TrustedWebMail.

TrustedWebMail is currently being used by a select group of schools in beta format and it will be available for public use in September of 2012. More than 800 million first name combinations will be available for students to use across more than 22,000 domains for high schools. As an example will add personalization for students and alumni. Due to several thousand schools sharing the same name/mascot combination, email address names will be released on a first come, first served basis but individuals who preregister at will receive a 72 hr advance notice to register their name of choice ahead of the general public.

For a full working demo of a single user account or to preregister for your address of choice with a list of possible domains, go to TrustedWebMail.com for more information.
