Berlin, February 17, 2010: HMS Bergbau AG is an international coal trading
group with operating expertise in coal mining, logistics and trading. Today
the company announced that it has signed contracts with a large German
power plant operator for the supply power station coal. The preliminary
trading volume has been put at around 400,000 tons. HMS Bergbau AG will
deliver on its obligations arising from the contract mainly by supplying
high-quality coal from Poland and Russia.
'The fact that a large power plant operator has awarded a significant order
to HMS Bergbau AG means that we are continuing to realize planned order
intake. This makes us very optimistic for the rest of the year. We were
again able to come out on top against renowned international competitors,
clearly demonstrating our long-term expertise in the field of supplying
coal-fired power plants. In addition to high quality standards with
corresponding levels of thermal efficiency as far as coal product itself
was concerned, our customer was mainly swayed by cost efficiency
considerations in the decision-making process. We are acting as an
outsourced purchasing department and in addition to cost and quality
advantages we also offer a considerable degree of flexibility. Thanks to
swift response times within the group, we have already started with the
first delivery,' explains Heinz Schernikau, CEO of HMS Bergbau AG.
