Asda Money Customers Unveil Their Worst Holiday Experiences
The idea of going on holiday is that it should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience, giving you time to wind down and experience new cultures. However, some holidays can offer quite the opposite experience.
(firmenpresse) - LEEDS, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 08/03/12 -- Research from Asda Money(i) reveals that a number of Britons have experienced nightmare holidays with bad weather casting a cloud of misery over the holiday period for many.
When asked what the worst type of holiday was, a number of respondents claimed that cheaper, all inclusive holiday packages generally prove not to be up to the advertised standards. Popular caravan sites and camping holidays also quickly lose their appeal when things go wrong and expectations are not met sufficiently.
Asda Money reveals just some of the nation's worst holiday experiences:
"I took my daughter to a holiday camp in Wales for her birthday. It would have been great, loads of activities for her and a lovely beach, but the place was swamped with foul-mouthed liverpudlians, who were constantly drunk - running about the campsite in their pyjamas and throwing up in public areas - it ruined what could have been a great holiday. I'm no snob, but these people acted like animals and had no consideration for decent families."
"Camping holiday when it rained and rained and rained, we ended up soaking wet for four days and then gave up and went home!"
"Orlando, Florida in 2009 because my daughter was ill for the whole holiday and ended up in hospital."
"Gran Canaria. Package holiday. The hotel was poor, rooms dilapidated, food not great and everywhere you go hassle from traders. Would not return there."
Whilst holidaymakers expect to have a good time, this is not always the case. There are a number of things that can go wrong when travelling overseas from uncontrollable bad weather to lost luggage and sickness. You cannot claim on your for poor weather, however, it is a safety net for travellers who fall ill and face high medical bills or items, which are lost or stolen.
