The Medical University of South Carolina Selects AiM(TM) from AssetWorks to Manage Campus-Wide Facilities, Real Estate, and Fixed Assets

(firmenpresse) - SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- (Marketwire) -- 08/08/12 -- AssetWorks, a leader in Intelligent Workplace Management(SM), today announced the Medical University of South Carolina has joined a growing list of over 100 major institutions of higher education that rely on AssetWorks' Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) to optimize resources and drive greater visibility, accountability and transparency campus-wide. In addition, the university has contracted with AssetWorks to deploy AiM (FAS) to track and depreciate fixed assets.

Founded in 1824, the Medical University of South Carolina is an established institution of higher learning with a medical center and six colleges specializing in the education of healthcare professionals, biomedical scientists, and other health-related professionals. The university selected AiM to manage operations and maintenance and space and facilities planning for 160 buildings totaling 5.5 million square feet in support of 2,500 faculty and staff and over 12,000 students. The university has also selected AssetWorks' powerful new lightweight reporting tool, AiM IQ, as well as AiM iDesk for iOS to support mobile entry of facilities data.

With AiM FAS, the university can easily add new fixed assets, transfer assets among departments, funds, or locations, and partially or fully dispose of assets. AiM FAS users can also track and depreciate a fixed asset inventory based on user-defined asset classes and produce GASB 34/35- and GAAP-compliant reports. Using the mobile inventory solution, AssetMobile, the university can perform asset reconciliations and streamline re-inventory workflow processes.

"This win further validates our leadership position in providing IWMS to institutions of higher education," said Ken Slaughter, Senior Vice President, AssetWorks. "We are extremely gratified to welcome the Medical University of South Carolina to the growing community of major colleges and universities now using AiM - a tight-knit community that now exceeds over 100 members."
