Simon E. Powley Named Retail Banking Group Executive for Washington Federal
(firmenpresse) - SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/17/12 -- Washington Federal, Inc. (NASDAQ: WAFD), parent company of Washington Federal, today announced that Simon E. Powley has been named Senior Vice President and Retail Banking Group Manager. Powley will serve as the Company's senior retail banking executive with overall responsibility for customer-facing consumer and small business banking activities in Washington Federal's eight state territory.
Powley joins Washington Federal from Bank of America, where he has spent his entire career to this point. He most recently served in the role of Area Readiness Manager at B of A for Washington, Oregon and Nevada. Prior roles include serving as a Consumer Market Executive, Consumer Market Manager, Banking Center Manager and as an officer in the Las Vegas Customer Care Center. A native of Nebraska, he is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, studied business at the University of Las Vegas and is a 2008 graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School. He is active in the community and currently serves as Board Chairman of the South Puget Sound chapter of Junior Achievement.
