Champion Minerals Appoints Director of Human Resources and Advisory Board
Member
Toronto (Canada), August 22, 2012 - CHAMPION MINERALS INC. (TSX: CHM;
OTCQX:CPMNF; FSE: P02) ('Champion' or the 'Company') is pleased to announce
that Mr. Claude Léveillée has been appointed the Company's Director of
Human Resources and additionally, that Mr. William Harding has been
appointed to the Company's Advisory Board.
Mr. Léveillée will join Champion at its Montreal office and he brings over
30 years of national and international experience in the area of human
resources, including 25 years at Agnico-Eagle Mines. Most recently, Mr.
Léveillée served as Human Resources and Organizational Corporate Director
at Agnico Eagle's Corporate Division, where he was responsible for creating
policies and procedures for operations located in Canada, Mexico and
Finland. Prior to that, he held the position of Human Resources Regional
Director where he wrote policies and procedures for Agnico Eagles' three
mines located in the Abitibi-Temiscamingue area of western Quebec.
Throughout his career Mr. Léveillée successfully executed mandates in
various areas such as staffing, performance appraisal, succession planning,
mediation, negotiation, occupational health and safety and public/community
relations.
Champion is pleased to also welcome Mr. William Harding to its team, with
his appointment to the Company's Advisory Board. Mr. Harding has over 25
years of in-depth exposure to capital markets in both the public and
private sectors and is experienced in international portfolio management
and investment consultancy. Mr. Harding is currently the Chairman of Alpine
Asset Advisors AG and has been a member of the Board of Governors of CI
Investments Inc. since 2005. Mr. Harding began his career in Corporate
Finance at Wood Gundy (CIBC World Markets) and worked in Institutional
Equity Research and Sales at Gardiner Watson Ltd. (Morgan Stanley). Prior
to founding Alpine Advisors AG, he was a Managing Partner of a Swiss-based
Independent Financial Intermediary (Bruellan SA) specializing in Portfolio
Management of Family Offices and High Net-Worth Individuals.
