Telenor launches TV for fibre customers

ID: 17689

(Thomson Reuters ONE) -

(Fornebu, 18 March 2010) Telenor's IP TV product is now launched, providing
Telenor's fibre customers with the ideal communications solution for the whole
family: high-speed broadband, telephony and probably the best range of TV in the
Nordic Region - all on the same fibre optic cable.

Telenor has now started to sell IP TV, initially to its customers in Norway with
fibre (broadband and telephony) already installed.

"With the TV package we now have available, we can begin to sell a complete
Triple Play solution to our fibre customers," says Svein Henning Kirkeng, head
of Telenor's private market segment in Norway.

Excellent quality
Telenor's new TV solution has been undergoing testing since the autumn of 2009.
Active test users have tested the product's technical and consumer quality, and
in relation to processes and solutions for installation and supply. In all
respects, quality levels have been reported as high.

"On behalf of our customers, Telenor has set very high quality requirements for
the end user's product. The customers who have tested the pilot have given
exceptionally good feedback on the product we are now launching on the market.
In particular, they state that the small, quiet TV box, which is also available
in a recording version - PVR - with time shift and pause function for live
broadcasts, is a valuable feature," adds Kirkeng.

Best content in the Nordic Region
Telenor's TV customers will be offered the best TV content in the Nordic Region,
covering everything normally associated with 'traditional TV' to multi-room
solutions where there are TV sets in several rooms. The entire portfolio of TV
channels from Canal Digital and Viasat is available to Telenor's TV customers.
The OnDemand function with additional content from various content providers
will also be available. Many of the TV channels and films will be offered in HD

quality.

Best film shop in Norway?
Telenor has one of the best film 'shops' in Norway, with a wide range of
different film categories all easily accessible from the remote control and
on-screen menu, allowing customers to choose the latest films from the major
film companies, domestic and international. The film shop will always stock
several thousand titles to satisfy the entire spectrum of interests and needs.
