AMJ Campbell Nominated for Canada's Passion Capitalists Award
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO -- (Marketwire) -- 08/28/12 -- AMJ Campbell Van Lines, Canada's largest moving company, has been nominated for . In its inaugural year, the award is presented by Knightsbridge Human Capital Solutions in partnership with Business News Network (BNN), Global Governance Advisors, Torys LLP and the National Post. The award was created to recognize Canadian organizations that have achieved sustainable success by creating "Passion Capital": the energy, intensity, and sustainability needed to generate superior results. In short, it's about the people in an organization and the culture and shared beliefs they have cultivated that yield results.
In an interview with Business News Network, Bruce Bowser, President and CEO of AMJ Campbell, defines what Passion Capital means to him: "It's the passion that drives you in business and in life, and to have passion about something means you're committed to it and you get excited about it." For AMJ Campbell, he says, it's about dedicated employees that keep the clients first. Passionate about keeping experienced employees, AMJ develops loyalty by creating clear paths for career advancement within the company. Employees know they can progress through a series of training programs. Roughly 20 of his franchisees were truck drivers who worked their way up.
Among the other reasons AMJ is a Passion Capitalist nominee is how the company fended off a hostile takeover in 2003 leading to a management buyout. Originally an employee, Bruce Bowser, along with other committed members of management, became owners, making the company privately owned. Although Bowser calls it "one of the most stressful business events of [his] life," he is pleased with the company's growth in the 8 years since the decision.
From the pool of Passion Capitalist nominees, 40 total finalists will be chosen; ten each from Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario, and Western Canada. From this 40, ten winners will be chosen nationwide to earn the award and be recognized as one of Canada's Passion Capitalists. The finalists of this award will be announced September 28, 2012, and the winners will be announced November 9, 2012.
