Crowdfunding Innovator Return on Change Announces Startup Contest Winners
Names Maya Mountain Cacao, Sentimed Medical and Thankster "High Impact Startups"
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 08/29/12 -- Crowdfunding innovator Return on Change (RoC) today announced the winners of its startup contest. The judges selected Maya Mountain Cacao, Sentimed Medical Corporation and Thankster as the winners representing high impact startups from RoC's categories of Social Ventures, Bio/Med Tech, and Web Tech.
The contest, which started in June, invited entrants to submit their information for a chance to win one of three $1,000 cash prizes and other perks. After much consideration, the RoC team chose these three entrants based on the startup's potential to impact the world and raise capital through Crowdfunding.
"Our attention was brought to RoC's crowdfunding venture solution in particular as its primary focus is on return to society," said Martin Beland, president of Sentimed. "We see the opportunity to raise capital through crowdfunding as one which will not only help us raise enough to launch our product but also as one which will increase awareness around our product and category."
Maya Mountain Cacao is a social venture company that sources premium cocoa beans from Belizean farmers to make fine chocolate products; Sentimed Medical Corporation offers a telemedicine platform, sold in drugstore chains, that provides remote medical support to consumers in collaboration with pharmacists; and Thankster.com is a website that lets users order and send physical and electronic greeting cards that can be personalized with realistic handwriting.
