Steven M. Besbeck Appointed to MeetMe(R), Inc. Board of Directors
(firmenpresse) - NEW HOPE, PA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/04/12 -- MeetMe, Inc. (NYSE MKT: MEET), the public market leader for social discovery, announced today that the MeetMe Board has appointed Steven M. Besbeck to its Board of Directors. In addition to serving as a Director, Mr. Besbeck will Chair the Audit Committee.

Mr. Besbeck is currently a Managing Director with Diamond Capital Advisors, LLC., a middle-market investment bank. In addition, Mr. Besbeck has a long track record as a public company CEO. Between 1983 and 2007, Mr. Besbeck was the Chairman and CEO of Aspyra ( (OTCBB: APYI), which at the time was traded on the American Stock Exchange), which he co-founded and established as a leading company in its industry. Prior to founding Aspyra, Mr. Besbeck was the President and CEO of American Cytogenetics, where he turned the nearly bankrupt company into a successful venture, directing 11 acquisitions and selling the company in 1983.
Mr. Besbeck currently serves as a director, Chairman of the Nominating and Governance Committee, and member of the Audit Committee of Iris International, Inc. and has served previously on public company boards including Aspyra, Inc.; American Pay Telephone Systems; Bristol Gaming; HSC Services; American Cytogenetics; and Agincourt Ventures, Inc. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and he has been a speaker on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and corporate governance.
Mr. Besbeck joins the MeetMe, Inc. Board of Directors as its ninth member.
