Gouda - Imtech (technical services provider in Europe) recently received
permission from the German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt) to introduce the
Imtech Climate Protection Program. This programme enables the bundled
transformation of realised energy savings and reduced carbon emissions into
carbon emission rights that can be traded on the European market.

Imtech CEO René van der Bruggen: 'Increasing sustainability features high on our
customers' agendas. Not just in connection with their own CSR ambitions, but
also due to strict EU regulations. Imtech helps to realise these objectives by
thinking along about clever energy solutions that spare the environment and cut
back costs. With the introduction of theImtech Climate Protection Program,
Imtech has ensured that investing in 'green' solutions has become even more
profitable.'

Imtech Climate Protection Program
Within the Imtech Climate Protection Program, Imtech bundles the energy savings
and reduced carbon emissions realised for its customers, transforms these into
carbon emission rights and subsequently trades them on the European market.
Every year, the revenue from the sale of the emission rights is transferred pro
rata to the participants' accounts. This way, Imtech gives its clients a
financial incentive to invest in sustainable solutions like geothermal heat
storage, the generation of own energy from biomass and thermal energy.

PowerMatching City: Intelligent energy consumption thanks to 'Smart Grid'
A good example of the convergence of sustainable Imtech solutions
isPowerMatching City; a project demonstrating an energy infrastructure of the
future, which was launched in early March 2010 in the municipality of Hoogkerk.

Within the project, the households generate their own energy thanks to a heat
pump-high efficiency boiler combination or a micro Combined Heat and Power unit
that has been installed in each of the homes. To optimally use the generated
sustainable energy - which is difficult to store - the project utilises a smart
grid. Smart grids are decentralised energy networks that are linked to the
energy network and that optimally co-ordinate the supply and demand of
decentrally generated sustainable energy, so that as little energy as possible
is lost. Imtech is a collaborative partner in the project, which - with
neighbourhoods and industrial estate meeting their own energy needs - is a fine
example of sustainable area development.

ICARUS
With the ICARUS project, Imtech also raises energy awareness among its own
staff. In ICARUS, energy consumption is measured in employees' homes and also
reduced thanks to energy conservation tips. Across Imtech, 200 employees in
Europe are currently taking part in the project. Housing corporations and other
non-profit organisations have since shown interest in a project based on ICARUS.
