Register Now for the 25th Bigelow Tea Community Challenge for Charity
(firmenpresse) - FAIRFIELD, CT -- (Marketwire) -- 09/10/12 -- The Community Challenge is celebrating 25 years of charitable giving and family-friendly fun! This year's much-anticipated event will take place on September 30 at the and features a 5K Road Race, non-competitive Fitness Walk and Kids' Fun Run. 100% of the proceeds benefit 16 area organizations, including the , the and the .
The event is expected to draw over 1,000 participants and raise over $100,000.
"It amazes me to think the first event attracted 50 participants and raised $3k. Today, 25 years and $800k later, our family-friendly event attracts runners, walkers and kids from all over Connecticut and beyond," says Cindi Bigelow, third generation president of Bigelow Tea. "So it is with immense pride that the Bigelow family celebrates the Silver Anniversary of the Community Challenge which continues to enrich the lives of many people in Fairfield and Bridgeport."
The first 1,000 to register receive a free 25th Anniversary edition T-shirt and goody bag, plus there will be food, drinks and childcare in addition to being eligible to win exciting raffle prizes that include a fantastic grand prize of two plane tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S. donated by Warren Travel Agency!
In honor of the anniversary, a silent auction of signed sporting memorabilia donated by the NY Yankees will also take place plus non-perishable food items will be collected for our local food bank.
