NEXT Financial Group Representatives Assist Small Business Owners With Long-Term Planning
A Sobering New Study Finds That Many More Small Business Owners Doubt They Will Ever Be Able to Retire; This Study Has Prompted the Attention of NEXT Financial Group
(firmenpresse) - HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 09/11/12 -- For many years, the American worker has looked forward to retirement as a period of relaxation and leisure, a well-deserved break from the daily grind. Recent economic tumult has jeopardized this long-standing American dream -- at least in the minds of many small business owners. A sobering new study finds that more and more small business owners are beginning to doubt that they will ever be able to retire. This finding has won the attention of ; NEXT has responded to the study with a new statement to the press.
NEXT Financial Group is an independent broker-dealer, based in the Houston area. The company has numerous financial representatives across the country, providing a range of financial planning and consultation services to their customers. The company's focus is on serving the needs of its representatives to better build their business.
"As an unabashed advocate for the promotion and success of small businesses in America, I feel it is even more imperative for the owners of these community establishments to retire with both peace of mind and in the lifestyle of their choice," says NEXT Financial Group President Barry Knight, in the company's new press statement. "Small business owners need to know they are supported by their community members, customers and financial advisors. NEXT Representatives are always ready to welcome small business owners into their offices to help them achieve the retirement they so richly deserve."
The optimism expressed by the NEXT statement follows on the heels of a troubling set of statistics from the new study. According to the study's findings, 43 percent of small business owners, with sales between $100,000 and $10 million, have no intention of ever retiring. Among those who do plan to retire, the expected retirement age has risen. According to the recent study, the retirement age had increased to 67 years old. Meanwhile, of those who say they do plan to retire, many insist they will need to keep working on a part-time basis to supplement their retirement earnings. Seventy-two percent of small business owners who plan to retire, also plan to continue working, to some degree or in some capacity.
The lack of confidence that small business owners have in their own ability to one day retire is emblematic of broader trends. The same study finds that overall confidence in the American small business has declined in recent months. Additionally, the study reports that small business "expectations for the financial condition of their company fell 14 points."
