Berner&Mattner Awarded by Job Exchange Portal Absolventa
(PresseBox) - Berner & Mattner's trainee program has been granted the award for "career-enhancing and fair trainee programs" by the job exchange portal Absolventa. The provider of systems engineering, development and testing of high-performance electronic and mechanical systems signed the "charter for career-enhancing & fair trainee programs" and presented its trainee program, which has been existing since 2011, for auditing.
The term "trainee" is not protected and "black sheep" among companies exploit so-called trainees as cheap labor. The job exchange portal Absolventa, one of Germany's most important portals for students, graduates and young professionals, therefore tries to create transparency in this nebulous supply-driven market. Absolventa checks trainee offers and honors companies that are committed to high-quality trainee programs. Establishing partners are the Institut für Personalwirtschaft (Institute for Human Resources) at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich), headed by Prof. Dr. Ingo Weller, the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung and ten companies of the private sector.
At Berner & Mattner, trainees run through phases of six to twelve months at three different locations in which they are trained in different disciplines. This is accompanied by intensive training and a mentor being available as a "sparring partner" during the whole period. Regular status assessments with the HR department and the division management provide transparent feedback and aim at a continuous improvement process. "The positive feedback of the participants and the award of Absolventa are motivating us to continue on the path of a high-quality trainee program for both sides in the future. We see our program as an important building block to get young professionals with potential on board, with the possibility of offering them a great perspective after completing the trainee program" says Dagmar Klopf, HR manager at Berner & Mattner.
