Iowa Farmland to Sell in Oct. 26 Auction

(firmenpresse) - BEDFORD, IA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/14/12 -- Approximately 860 acres of farmland in Taylor County, Iowa, will sell at auction Friday, Oct. 26, with marketing the property and managing the sale. The property includes approximately 567 tillable acres.

"The drought appears to have had minimal effect on the strong rise in farmland prices, and we are hoping to see good interest from local operators as well as investors," said Joe Bubon, executive vice president of Murray Wise Associates.

The property will sell in 10 tracts, with the land tracts ranging from 52 to 179 acres. "We have seven tracts that can be combined for a total of 582 contiguous acres, of which 353 acres are tillable," said Bubon. "We have 278 acres -- including both tillable and recreational land -- adjoining Lake of Three Fires State Park. Several of the tracts have ponds, and a six-acre tract includes a country home site."

Bubon said the land will sell in tracts to enable the largest possible number of bidders to participate. "Our auction method enables bidders to purchase just the land that meets their needs. We could have one buyer for all the property, 10 different buyers, or anything in between," he said.
