Pathbrite Among Three Ed-Tech Startup Finalists That Will Compete to Determine the Best Idea for Improving Education in the U.S. in 2012
(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/18/12 -- , the digital portfolio company that enables individuals to go beyond the bubble test and traditional résumés to vividly showcase a lifetime of learning and personal achievements, has been selected as one of three finalists for NewSchools Venture Fund's "Innovation Challenge" taking place at the 2012 NBC News . Education Nation is the NBC News initiative to engage the country in a solutions-focused conversation about the state of education in America.
The "Innovation Challenge" competition pits three teams from innovative education technology companies against each other in a series of trials, culminating in a pitch competition on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, which will be held at the New York Public Library. Education Nation Summit participants will get to see it all in action as NBC News cameras follow the teams in the days leading up to the pitch day. Viewers at home can follow the event on the Education Nation website, blog and various broadcasts on NBC News. NBC Nightly News Anchors Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw will moderate the event.

Hiles and the Pathbrite team will be joined by ed-tech startups NoRedInk.com and readIMAGINE, which will compete in five challenges beginning September 20 and participating in the Education Nation Summit taking place September 23 - 25, 2012. The three-day event will bring together more than 300 of the country's thought leaders in education, government, business, philanthropy and media.
