Inc. Ranks Nivis at 179 Within the Software Industry on Annual 500|5000 List
(firmenpresse) - ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/19/12 -- Inc. magazine ranked Nivis number 179 within the software industry on its sixth annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. With three-year revenue growth of 102%, Nivis placed above the median for all companies on the Inc. list. The list represents a comprehensive look at a key segment of the economy -- America's independent entrepreneurs. Nivis joins Yelp, yogurt maker Chobani, Giftcards.com and famed hatmaker Tilly's, among other prominent brands featured on this year's list.
In a stagnant economic environment, the median growth rate of 2012 Inc. 500|5000 companies was an impressive 97 percent. The companies on this year's list report having created more than 400,000 jobs in the past three years, with aggregate revenue among the honorees of $299 billion. The 2012 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2008 to 2011. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2008. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent -- not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies -- as of December 31, 2011. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2008 is $100,000; the minimum for 2011 is $2 million.
