King & Spalding Adds IP Transactions Specialist in Silicon Valley
(firmenpresse) - REDWOOD SHORES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/24/12 -- Emma Maconick, an expert in complex intellectual property licensing and technology transactions, has joined King & Spalding's Silicon Valley office as a partner in the firm's corporate group.
Maconick's hire marks the continued expansion of the firm's Silicon Valley office, bringing to 33 the number of King & Spalding lawyers in California, including 13 partners. Her arrival follows on that of veteran patent litigator William F. Abrams in mid-July.
"Emma is a highly skilled lawyer whose arrival will strengthen our existing corporate and intellectual property practices in Silicon Valley," noted office managing partner Timothy T. Scott. "She is one of California's rising stars in the area of transactional IP law, and we are delighted to have her on our growing West Coast team."
Maconick has in-depth experience advising clients on the intellectual property aspects of transactional matters. She regularly assists corporate and capital markets clients with IP assets commercializations; the negotiation of complex pharmaceutical, biotech, high-tech, web and media related agreements; and various intellectual property issues related to mergers, acquisitions, investments, and credit and financing transactions. Maconick also has commercial contracts expertise, including IP licenses, product development, manufacture, procurement and supply agreements, standard terms of use and e-commerce and privacy issues.
Maconick earned her law degree from the College of Law in London and received her B.A., with honors, from the University of Bristol. She comes to King & Spalding from Davis Polk & Wardell LLP.
