Celebrating the Life of Ron Bansemer, Former Owner of Herth Real Estate
(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/27/12 -- Ron Bansemer, real estate broker, investor, and former owner of Herth Real Estate in San Francisco, passed away on Sunday, September 23rd after a long illness.
Ron attended Hollywood High School and obtained a cosmetology license which his mother urged him to keep in case real estate didn't work out ... it did!
In 1977 Ron opened the Deluxe bar at the legendary corner of Haight and Ashbury, which became an overnight sensation.
Ron served as president of the San Francisco Association of Realtors in 1994 during which time he met with then governor Gray Davis and San Francisco Mayor Frank Jordan on numerous occasions.
Along with Ray Herth, founder of Herth Realty and others, Ron provided seed money for the Atlas Savings and Loan on Castro Street, now Citibank. Ron was a philanthropist who gave generously to the community and also helped many people with money to purchase their first homes.
Larry Stebbins, owner of Herth Real Estate, said, "Ron was a mentor and inspiration to many Realtors®. The legacy of Herth Real Estate is a living testimony to his talent and vision."
An intimate gathering of family and friends will be held at Herth Real Estate, 555 Castro Street in San Francisco on his birthday, November 1st.
