(firmenpresse) - SIOUX FALLS, SD -- (Marketwire) -- 09/28/12 -- Travelers going from, to or through South Dakota now have more options thanks to a new Jefferson Lines Transit Center opening at Maple Mall on County Highway 140, just west of I-29. Previously, they operated out of a local courier company acting as a Jefferson Lines agency. However, the new location will be more convenient to customers and under Jefferson Lines management as a company transit center. "We believe in this location, this line and in serving this community," said Kevin Pursey, Jefferson Lines Director of Marketing and Culture. "We see Sioux Falls as an important hub for travelers heading west to Billings, south to Kansas City, or north to Fargo."
With added convenience and improved quality service, the new transit center will continue to serve riders in the Sioux Falls area with daily service to Rapid City, Fargo, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Omaha, Kansas City and Billings. "We've seen increased ridership in South Dakota, and we think this transit center will provide more and better options for our customers," said Pursey.
Jefferson Lines plans to launch the new transit center with a promotional campaign that will include discounts of up to half off fare prices and other events. However, the main selling point for the company continues to be the comfort and convenience of traveling on a Jefferson Lines bus. "We want to give our customers a satisfying experience -- not just a ride," added Pursey. "With the high gas prices these days, we offer travelers a safe, affordable means of connecting with the people and places they love."
Jefferson Lines is a family-owned company that was founded in 1919 and is currently being run by the third generation of family members who actively manage the business. The company is a member of the American Bus Association, United Motorcoach Association, National Tour Association and many other local visitor associations and chambers of commerce.
