U.S. Army and Pro Football Hall of Fame Announce High School Athlete Award Finalists
Ten Award for Excellence Finalists Named During Enshrinement Weekend
(firmenpresse) - CANTON, OH -- (Marketwire) -- 10/01/12 -- Academics and sports go hand in hand.
And, with the help of the U.S. Army's Award for Excellence program, community service and athletics, they can lead student athletes to parallel Army Strong Soldiers with a unique and similar set of strengths.
The U.S. Army and Pro Football Hall of Fame partnered to create the Award for Excellence Program which highlights the accomplishments of our Nation's high school athletes who exemplify similar strengths to Army Strong Soldiers; and who not only excel athletically, but who also excel academically and are active in their communities. The 10 high school athlete finalists were announced last month.
"Athletes and Army Strong Soldiers posses a unique and similar set of strengths," says retired Cincinnati Bengal and NFL Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz. "I'm excited to recognize these outstanding sophomore and junior high school student-athletes who excel in their sport, excel academically and who embody the leadership qualities needed to succeed."

In its day-to-day operation, the Pro Football Hall of Fame works very closely with all facets of the pro football family -- the National Football League, the 32 NFL clubs, and other entities to ensure the overall success of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In turn, the Hall strives to serve as the best possible historical showplace and repository for the sport of pro football.
