Biogas Nord AG: Half Year Report 2012 - global sales 61% of turnover

the Group's growth
Bielefeld, 1 October 2012. The leading provider of biogas technology,
Biogas Nord AG, published today its Semi Annual Report as of June 2012.
Despite the 70% decline in the German biogas construction industry, as
published recently by the German Biogas Association, Biogas Nord AG was
able within a short period, to shift its historical dependence on the
German market to the international markets. Following its global expansion
strategy, Biogas Nord generated during the first six months of 2012 a
turnover of TEUR 19.470, similar to the June 2011 turnover of TEUR 20.026.
The total turnover generated from International projects during the first
half year period, totaled EUR 11.7 million, comprising 61,2% of the total
turnover, compared to EUR 1,8 million of international revenues as of June
2011, an increase of 523,5% in the international turnover generated during
the period compared to the same period in 2011.
During the six months period ended June 2012 the gross margin was increased
by 9,08% compared to the same period in 2011. The gross margin as of the
six months period ended June 2012 totaled EUR 5.68 million or 29,18%.(June
2011: EUR 5.21 million; 26,01%). Due to its advanced technology and the
global expansion of the Group, it is expected that the higher gross margin
will not to be a one-time phenomenon.
During the six months period ended June 30th 2012 the EBITDA reached almost
break-even level TEUR -6 ( June 2011: TEUR 71), despite the extra costs
incurred by the international expansion. The Group loss for the same period
totaled TEUR -464 (same period of previous year: TEUR -303).
The Group has increased its presence from 13 countries at the end of 2011
to 16 countries as of June 30th 2012, and is expected to start construction
in 3 other countries until the end of 2012.
At the end of September 2012, the project pipeline has reached EUR 143
million, compared to EUR 107 million in September 2011. Of these projects,
79% are expected to be generated from the global markets, compared to 22,2%
at the end of September 2011.
