Ziehl-Abegg expands motor production in China
The fan and motor manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg (Künzelsau) will be expanding the production of motors in China in the autumn. In October the company will be celebrating the tenth year of manufacturing at the Shanghai site. The German fan manufacturer successfully set up a sales company in China already back in the 90's.
Ziehl-Abegg will be fabricating energy-saving EC motors of small frame sizes in China also(firmenpresse) - "We will be starting the production of small frame-size energy-saving motors in Shanghai in autumn because the so-called EC motors are experiencing high demand in Asia also" says Peter Fenkl, Chairman of the Board of Ziehl-Abegg. Previously, Ziehl-Abegg had motors manufactured on order. Starting immediately, the fabrication will be undertaken on its own production facilities. "That way we can ensure that production does not experience any delays and has constantly uniform quality" explains Fenkl.
To date, 320 employees work at Ziehl-Abegg in Shanghai. They manufacture and mount axial and centrifugal fans. Moreover, the production of motors for elevators is undertaken in Shanghai. The expansion of the production can be achieved without any problems because with 20,000 square meters of area, we are spatially well endowed there" Fenkl reports.

The range of motors from Ziehl-Abegg allows the company to react to varying requirements for different applications. External-rotor motors from Ziehl-Abegg combine the advantages of a compact and space-saving design with the tried and tested drive concept of a wear-free, cage rotor motor.
The classic external rotor motors trade under the designation AC motors and are all speed controllable. Electronically commutated DC motors, so-called EC motors including the necessary EC controllers with their constant speed and high efficiency are convincing in many applications – consequently they are especially energy saving.
