Frankfurt, 14. April 2010. The Vtion Group, one of the three leading
suppliers of wireless data solutions for mobile computer use in China, sold
239,152 wireless data cards in the month of March 2010, at prices
consistent with those of the first two months of the year. This is the
highest single-month sales volume in company history and represents a sales
volume increase of approximately 41% over February 2010 as well as an
increase of 336% over March 2009.
'Just as we anticipated, our sales volume rebounded strongly from a
holiday-shortened February,' states Vtion CEO Chen Guoping. 'We have been
building our sales volume steadily in the early part of the year. Our
selling prices have stayed steady, and have been higher over the first
months of 2010 than the final months of 2009,' he continues. 'We are now
moving into a stage in the year where purchasing from the telecom operators
is becoming de-centralized and we will see more activity at the provincial
level, which has traditionally been a strength for Vtion.' As the year
continues Vtion intends to maintain and leverage the strong position as a
strategic partner of all three Chinese telecom operators, to stay abreast
of the 3G emergence in what is essentially the first year of Chinese 3G
development.
The Chinese wireless network industry is currently going through a process
of market development from second generation networks to network standards
of the third mobile phone generation - known as 3G standards. China is the
only country in the world with three different 3G wireless standards, the
CDMA 2000 EVDO Network operated by China Telecom, the WCDMA Network
operated by China Unicom and the TD-SCDMA Network operated by China Mobile.
Network rollouts for the latter two networks are still in progress; the
Vtion Group is expecting the completion of the establishment of 3G mobile
networks to lead to a further increase in demand for wireless data cards in
China.
