SKADDEN HIRES LEADING GERMAN TAX PARTNER AND APPOINTS DR. BERND MAYER AS
GERMAN PRACTICE LEADER
FRANKFURT, October 8, 2012 - Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher&Flom LLP is
pleased to announce that Johannes Frey will join the firm as a partner in
the German tax practice. Mr. Frey brings significant experience in all
types of corporate tax matters, including acquisitions, spin-offs, joint
ventures, restructurings, and transactions involving cross-border tax
planning.
Mr. Frey is listed as a leading lawyer in JUVE Wirtschaftskanzleien,
Chambers Global and Chambers Europe. His arrival follows that of highly
lauded capital markets partners Stephan Hutter and Katja Kaulamo, who
joined the firm's German practice earlier in 2012 to enhance its capital
markets and finance practices across Europe, with a focus on Germany,
Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic region.
Skadden's European partner in charge Bruce Buck said, 'Johannes is very
well connected in the marketplace, and his broad skill-set will
significantly strengthen our existing client offering in Germany.'
In addition, partner Dr. Bernd Mayer has been appointed as Skadden's German
practice leader, succeeding partner Hilary Foulkes, who has relocated to
the firm's London office. Dr. Mayer has extensive experience advising
clients on corporate transactions, corporate governance and investigations.
He played a leading role in Daimler AG's FCPA settlement with U.S.
authorities.
Skadden's German practice has nine partners located in Frankfurt and
Munich. In Germany, we advise on M&A, corporate governance, private equity,
capital markets, banking, antitrust, employment and tax issues.
Skadden is one of the world's leading law firms, with 23 offices in major
financial centers globally. For additional information, visit
