SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of Korea Construction Quality Test &
Analysis (KCQT), Pyungtaek, Korea.
KCQT is the leading private construction materials testing and ground
investigation service company in Korea. Founded in 2000 and privately owned,
KCQT employs 60 people and operates laboratories in Pyungtaek, Incheon and
Anyang. In 2009, KCQT generated revenue in excess of KRW 7'500 million (CHF 7
million).
"This transaction is completely in line with the SGS Industrial Services growth
strategy. It expands our service offering in soil, construction material and
geo-technical testing, key growth areas given the number of large infrastructure
projects planned in Korea. It also allows SGS to offer our asset management and
control services to a much broader base of clients and I am very pleased to
