K-Plussa and Restel Ltd, Finland's biggest company in the hotel and restaurant industry, to start cooperation
(Thomson Reuters ONE) -
The K-Plussa network will expand in the restaurant and hotel services as the
K-Plussa customer loyalty programme and Restel Ltd, Finland's biggest company in
the hotel and restaurant industry start cooperation on 1 May 2010. Restel Ltd's
200 restaurants and 47 hotels throughout Finland will award K-Plussa points
starting from May.
Restel Ltd is Finland's biggest company in the hotel and restaurant industry,
and its restaurant chains Martina, Rax, Huviretki, Hemingway's, Wanha Mestari,
Parnell's and Grand Star Café, as well as NightLife nightclubs form the most
comprehensive restaurant service network in Finland. Restel's restaurant network
also includes Finland's biggest event restaurants located at, for example, the
Linnanmäki Amusement Park, Helsinki Ice Hall, Hartwall Areena, Vantaa Energia
Areena, Turku Fair and Congress Centre, and Tampere Ice Hall.
Restel's hotel network consists of Cumulus, Rantasipi, Holiday Inn, Ikaalinen
Spa, Crowne Plaza and Seurahuone Helsinki. The total number of facilities is
47, located in 28 places throughout Finland. Restel's wide hotel network offers
customers a variety of accommodation and spa holiday alternatives. In all, the
new cooperation provides customers with about 250 new possibilities to gain
K-Plussa points.
- The cooperation we will start with Restel will significantly expand the
restaurant network covered by K-Plussa. The new cooperation will enable us to
offer our customers a nationally comprehensive K-Plussa network also in
restaurant services. In addition, the new cooperation will reinforce the
existing hotel and spa network covered by K-Plussa by expanding it into
increasingly many localities. The Restel network included, K-Plussa services
will be available at more than 3,000 outlets throughout Finland. The more
outlets awarding K-Plussa points there are, the easier it is to increase the
total benefit, says Tapio Näveri, K-Plus Oy's Deputy Managing Director.
- We at Restel are very pleased with the cooperation agreement between K-Plus Oy
and Restel Ltd. The agreement will provide K-Plussa customers with a diversified
and exciting complement - the services of some 200 restaurants and 47 hotels in
Finland. Strategically, the agreement is very important to Restel Ltd's
restaurant, hotel and spa business. We at Restel are confident that this
cooperation will enhance our competitiveness and offer new, attractive options
to our customers, says Ralf Sandström, Restel Ltd's President and CEO.
Consumer customers will accrue K-Plussa points on all purchases made from Restel
Ltd's and its subsidiaries' own business operations. K-Plussa points are awarded
on, for example, restaurant foods and drinks, hotel accommodation and spa
services. K-Plussa point vouchers are accepted as payment in all Restel Ltd's
facilities included in K-Plussa cooperation.
Excluded from K-Plussa cooperation will be Helmi Simpukka restaurants operating
at Shell services stations, the products of Veikkaus and RAY, gift voucher
purchases, and health services provided by outside entrepreneurs at the spas,
and Holiday Inn Helsinki's and Hotel Crowne Plaza's restaurant services.
