Mr. Nigel Ferguson reports

LUISHA SOUTH PROJECT EXPLORATION UPDATE

African Metals Corp. has provided an exploration update on activities at its Luisha South project, Katanga province, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Licence mapping and trenching

Basanga Consulting Sprl, a geological contractor, has completed a program of fieldwork on the licence, including mapping and continuous channel sampling of eight trenches and two adits within the Luisha South pit, further sampling of five vertical pits within the licence, and collection of a further 19 rock chip samples from reconnaissance mapping of the southern extension of the licence. A total of 255 samples have been submitted to ALS laboratories of South Africa for analysis.

Initial indications from detailed pit mapping show the possibility of a higher-grade copper-cobalt zone within the northern half of the Luisha South pit corresponding with trenches one (partial), two, four and five and adit two. Trenches one (partial), three, six, seven and eight and adit one correspond with the medium-grade mineralized areas of the historical pit.

AFR now has a much better understanding of the nature, control and style of mineralization, including some definition of the geometry of high-grade shoots within the historical pit.

Geochemical results for the samples collected from the program are expected within the next four weeks depending on laboratory constraints.

Drill testing

The company is now in advanced negotiations with several available drilling contractors to provide drilling services enabling testing of the Luisha South pit extensions, including the potentially higher-grade zone and the footwall zones of the pit, below its current levels of excavation. An anticipated 2,000 metres of reverse circulation in 15 holes and 500 metres to 600 metres of HQ diamond core will be undertaken on the project. Should the regional mapping and sampling results indicate further mineralization is present buried beneath surficial sediments, additional drilling will be recommended to test these areas.

AFR is aiming for a start-up date for drilling of mid-May. Drilling will commence at the project within two weeks of signing the drilling contract.

AFR will be keeping the market updated on progress as and when results become available during this exciting phase of the development of the company.

Nigel Ferguson, AusIMM, president and chief executive officer of the company and a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101, has verified data disclosed in this release.
