ORIENT Strategies AG rapidly expands participations
- Immediate acquisition of 49 % in BR-Energy PLC
- Entrance to the rapidly growing renewable energy business in Turkey
- Expansion of representative offices in Iraq
St. Gallen/ Berlin / Istanbul, 16 October 2012. ORIENT Strategies AG
rapidly expands its participations and enters new markets in the Middle
East. On 19 September 2012, ORIENT Strategies AG acquired a 49% stake in
the internationally operating holding company 'BR-Energy PLC'.
BR-Energy PLC focuses on investments in companies engaged in renewable
energies and environmental technologies in Turkey. With this acquisition,
ORIENT Strategies AG also manages BR-Energy PLC from now on.
Entrance to the rapidly growing renewable energy business in Turkey.
The first participation of BR-Energy PLC is in the Turkish Hayat Enerji AS,
at which Konstantin v. Reden-Lütcken is now in the position of the manager.
The company has positioned itself successfully to participate in the
enormous growth potential of the Turkish renewable energy market. For now
it is planned to establish two reference facilities in the fields of biogas
and photovoltaic and to construct an assembly plant for solar modules.
There have so far been only limited production capacities for solar modules
in Turkey. Compared to imported solar energy products, 'Made in Turkey'-
products are more heavily subsidized. 'We want to be part of the Turkish
market when it is opened for large solar energy plants', Konstantin v.
Reden-Lütcken says. 'The Turkish government is afraid of subsidy misuse and
therefore still reserved. However, large solar energy plants with more than
500 megawatt hours will receive support from 2014 as well', he explains.
Development of representative offices in Iraq
In mid-September, the ORIENT Strategies AG have signed an agreement for the
opening of two representative offices in Iraq, among other things, as a
condition of participation in the now to be realized PVC water pipe
manufacturing plant.
On the 17th of September, ORIENT Strategies AG and the company Al Nahil
General Trading agreed on a future companionship of two representative
offices located in Baghdad and Kerbela. Al Nahil exists longer than fifteen
years in Iraq as a consulting and brokerage company for foreign companies
who want to be in active business in Iraq. This company is managed by Dr.
Hamza, who is also a director of the ORIENT Strategies AG.
'This is the first real step to get recognized as a foreign investor in
Iraq and to realize this year the PVC water pipe production project we have
already optioned' Konstantin v. Reden-Lütcken, President of ORIENT
Strategies AG declared. 'With this we create the precondition that can
expand the ORIENT Strategies AG in Iraq itself. With two offices in Baghdad
and Karbala, we also can help our customers to realize the market entry in
the rapidly growing Iraqi market.' said Dr. Abbas Hamza, the Board of
Directors of ORIENT Strategies AG.

More representative offices of ORIENT Strategies AG are planned in Russia,
as well as Turkey, in these markets to acquire other projects in growing
industries. The respective territories are maintained by different teams
that bring proven experience and existing networks. Appropriate investments
are already in the trial or shortly before the implementation.
