Chartwell Announces 2012 Senior Star Finalists
(firmenpresse) - MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/16/12 -- Canada's most popular musical competition for seniors, Chartwell's Senior Star, is proud to announce the competitors for its National Final:
The National Final will take place on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Fallsview Theatre at the Scotiabank Convention Centre, in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Over 50 regional Senior Star competitions took place in June hosted by Chartwell retirement and long term care homes across Canada. The first and second place winners in those competitions were considered by the celebrity judges for eligibility as one of the top 10 finalists.
We are pleased to again welcome Dinah Christie as host of the Finals, in addition to celebrity judges including Canadian icon Gordie Tapp and recording artist Tim Louis. This year, Patsy Gallant, well-known and beloved Canadian pop singer and musical theater actress, will join the judge's panel. Patsy, having recorded in both English and French, bring a wealth of musical knowledge, energy and personal flare to the Senior Star stage. Former celebrity judge Dan Clancy will provide vocal coaching and support for all ten contestants prior to the show.

Last year, Tony Pinto of Woodbridge, Ontario was crowned Chartwell's 2011 Senior Star by impressing the crowd and the judges with a moving piano instrumental performance.
