Seat manufacturer introduces accessories and expanded service offering

Amberg, April 21, 2010 - GRAMMER AG, automotive supplier and manufacturer
of seating systems, will be presenting at the world's largest trade fair
for the construction equipment industry, bauma 2010 in Munich. GRAMMER is
the market leader for seats in the offroad segment, and an important
supplier for numerous manufacturers. The company is anticipating a further
increase in business, especially in the growth regions of Asia.
Product innovations for series production and the aftermarket
For the extreme operating conditions in mining and forestry, GRAMMER has
developed the MSG 97 AL / 742 comfort seat. Its special suspension system
protects operators of heavy equipment from exposure to high physiological
stress. The new technology absorbs the effects of extreme shocks and the
very long periods of operation that take a considerable toll on drivers and
machines in these industries.
Two new lines of comfort seats now also allow used and existing vehicles to
comply with the stringent EU Directives on vibration protection for
operators of offroad machines. This is a new market segment for GRAMMER
that demonstrates the company's high level of technological expertise. The
new rules have already been implemented into the laws of every EU member
state, which is likely to result in a considerable rise in demand for
aftermarket seats. With the comfort seats Primo XL and Primo XXL, GRAMMER
is the first seat manufacturer worldwide to offer very low profile air
suspension seats with innovative low frequency suspension for this segment.
Expansion of service offering
At bauma, GRAMMER will also introduce its expanded offering in the area of
'Service&Parts'. Like the aftermarket seats, parts and accessories are
being developed to meet the needs of users worldwide. At present, the
focus is on satisfying the requirements of the European Union with respect
to workplace safety, also in the construction industry. International
delivery of GRAMMER aftermarket services and parts will now be even faster
as a result of the new service center.
Focus on fast growing regions of Asia
This year, GRAMMER will once again have its own stand at the bauma trade
fair. In addition to presenting products and services in a GRAMMER
environment, the fair has also developed into an important generator of
future projects and new orders, as well as a key barometer of sentiment for
the entire industry. GRAMMER's future focus in the construction machinery
sector will be on the growth regions of Asia. A rapid recovery from the
crisis and solid construction activity are offering new opportunities and
strongly growing markets in Asia, in which GRAMMER intends to increase its
presence with special products for the local market segments.
