Takes Home Silver for Overall Innovation and Also Wins in "Computing Systems" Category

The company took top honors in the prestigious competition's Computing Systems category and nabbed the program's 2012 Silver designation for overall innovation across the program's 18 categories.

Now in its ninth year, the Wall Street Journal Innovation Awards identify and highlight ideas that both break new ground and demonstrate some measurable impact. This year's program attracted nearly 540 entries from companies around the world, with only 7-percent of applicants making the final cut for recognition among the year's leading innovations.
To select the winners of this year's awards, Wall Street Journal editors and reporters reviewed and narrowed down the applicant pool to less than 200 entries that were then sent to an independent panel of judges from venture capital firms, universities and companies for final review. From that pool, the judges chose a total of 37 winners, in 18 categories. Applications were assessed on several criteria, including whether the innovation breaks conventional processes in its field, whether it goes beyond marginal improvement and the magnitude and range of impact the innovation will have.
