Imtech: technology in care sector increasingly important, 22 million euro of new orders in the Netherlands

Gouda - Imtech N.V. (technical services provider in Europe) announces that it
has received new orders from the Dutch care sector valued at more than 22
million euro. These orders confirm the fact that technology is becoming
increasingly important within the care process. In this context, Imtech and
third parties have devised a new industrial technology concept called 'plug-in
systems'.

René van der Bruggen, CEO Imtech: 'Technology is becoming increasingly important
in the care sector. As a result of population ageing, the care sector is facing
the immense challenge of having to work more and more efficiently and cheaply.
Operating costs have to be reduced, manageability must be improved, and
maintenance must be more professional. Moreover, the importance of ICT is
increasing fast. Integration of all the technological solutions (the combination
of electrical engineering, ICT and mechanical engineering) is Imtech's answer to
the cost and management problems in the care sector. The demand for technical
quality is also growing, as the care sector is increasingly asking for specific
technology that can meet the strictest hygiene and safety standards. As an
expert partner in technology, Imtech is able to respond well to these needs.'

Wide range of orders in the Dutch care sector
Imtech is technically one of the strongest players in the Dutch care sector,
with activities spread throughout the country. This has recently resulted in a
wide range of orders. For instance, Imtech is involved as the technology partner
in the multi-disciplinary upgrading of the Diagnostic Department of the Erasmus
Medical Centre in Rotterdam. It is also providing the technological renovation
of operating theatres at the AMC (Academic Medical Centre) in Amsterdam, the
Atrium Hospital in Heerlen, and the Reinier de Graaf Hospital in Delft. In these
cases in particular, specific technological elements come together which,

combined with the highest requirements regarding hygiene and safety, demand a
high quality multi-disciplinary approach. Specific technological renovations are
also to be carried out at the Bronovo Hospital in The Hague and the Emma
Children's Hospital in Amsterdam (location AMC), as well as the upgrading and
renovation of the entire technology of the Sancta Maria old age home in
Zevenbergen. Imtech has already announced that it is providing a high-tech power
station for the AMC in Amsterdam, where a substantial increase in energy
efficiency will result in a significant reduction of operating costs.

'Plug-in systems': fast, flexible and safe
Health care is a continuous process requiring optimum planning and safety.
Together with third parties, Imtech has therefore devised a new technological
concept for implementing (electrical) technical solutions faster, more flexibly
and more safely. The new concept called 'plug-in systems' is based on
prefabricated (industrial) plug-in systems from distribution points and cable
ducts up to and including wall plugs and switches, in such a way that power
groups (for instance during renovation) are not temporarily deprived of power.
Compared to the conventional way of working, the great advantage is that the
work can be carried out more quickly, and with higher quality and fewer
interruptions of the primary care process, which improves the continuity of the
care process. This new technology concept is being launched today.
