Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands - Ahold has repurchased 1,294,768 Ahold common shares
in the period from April, 19, 2010 up to and including April, 23, 2010. The
shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 10.1397 per share for a total
consideration of ? 13.13 million. These repurchases were made as part of the ?
500 million share buyback program announced on March 4, 2010.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 2,184,036
common shares for a total consideration of ? 22.2 million.
